Autism Spectrum Disorder
Navigating a world that wasn't designed for you takes constant effort. We offer neurodiversity-affirming support for people with autism and their families, focused on reducing distress, not changing who you are.
Common signs and challenges
I never know if I'm saying the wrong thing.
Certain sounds or environments are genuinely overwhelming for me.
Unexpected changes can throw off my entire day.
I spend all day pretending to be someone I'm not just to fit in.
After socializing, I'm completely depleted.
I don't always know what I'm feeling or why.
I struggle in environments that everyone else seems to manage fine.

Common questions
Do you use ABA?
No, we use a neurodiversity-affirming approach that focuses on wellbeing, self-understanding, and practical strategies, together with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness.
Does my child need a formal diagnosis to access your services?
No. We work with children and adults who are formally diagnosed, awaiting assessment, or do not have a diagnosis at all. What matters is that the challenges are real and affecting daily life. We can accept BC Autism Funding for clients who have a diagnosis.
My child shuts down when things get hard. How do you handle that in sessions?
We work at each client's pace and adapt the session format to what's manageable. For children who experience shutdowns or meltdowns, we also work with parents on what to do in those moments. The responses at home matter as much as the work done in sessions.
